2014 World Cup Championship Winner #1MNews

The finals of the 2014 World Cup kicks off Sunday, July 13 at 3pm in Brazil. The two teams reaching the finals is Germany and Argentina.

The Germans advances by thrashing the host and favorites Brazil 7-1. Argentina had a much tougher semifinal game beating the Netherlands 4-2 in penalty kicks, after playing 120 plus grueling minutes of scoreless soccer.

Before the World Cup started both of these teams were top choices to win the World Cup. Argentina was listed as +450 betting odds while the Germans were paying +650 for each $100 wagered.

The Germans have finished in third place in the last two World Cups. They were the runner-up in 2002. In 1990 West Germany won the Cup beating Argentina 1-0. In the 1986 World Cup, Argentina beat West Germany to take home the Cup.

In the world of soccer betting there are three betting option. You can bet on which team will win the game, you can place a bet on the game finishing in a draw, or you can bet on the number of goals scored (over/under). All of these wagers are based on the 90 minute regular time (plus the injury time).

The current betting odds have Germany at +130, Argentina at +250, the game being a draw at +220, and the over / under betting total at 2 goals. If you bet over two goals you will have to lay $175 to make $100 while the under will return $120 for $100. If the game finishes with two goals scored in regulation the bet will be a push.

Betting on the World Cup dwarfs any other sporting event, including the Super Bowl. Many Sportsbooks are projecting tomorrow's World Cup finals to be biggest one time sporting event ever wagered on.

Obviously, the way the Germans disposed of Brazil, and Argentina slipping past the Netherlands, Germany has attracted the majority of the betting monies. However, we expect this to be a much closer game than many are expecting. The over / under is very low at 2 goals and this normally lends to a lower scoring game.

Our bet is for this game to finish tied in the regular time. We are going to wager $100 to get back $220.

Our projected final score is Germany 1 and Argentina 1 and the game to go into overtime. This game will an exciting World Cup final and most likely be decided by penalty kicks. Enjoy the game.
